Starting point

Hamann Copy & Print is a specialist for printing and copying systems in Schöppingen. The offering covers consulting, sales, rental, maintenance and service — services that belong together but arise on entirely different occasions.

That is where the real task lies: a business looking for a new system has a different concern from an existing customer whose machine has stopped. Neither should have to use the same entry point.

On top of that, printing and copying systems need explaining. Anyone comparing them rarely arrives at the site with a decision already made — what they want is someone to talk to, not a spec sheet.

Goal

The service areas had to be clear at a glance, without visitors having to work through paragraphs of text.

The business had to be presented calmly and factually, and a way to get in touch had to stay visible at every point — the phone above all.

Requirements

That produced the requirements for the site:

  • The phone number belongs in the header, on every page.
  • New and existing customers each need their own entry point.
  • The location belongs on the page itself, not only in the legal notice.
  • The services stand separately, not in one shared paragraph.
  • No analytics or marketing cookies.

Approach

The main message came first: what the business does and where it is. The service areas and the ways to get in touch followed. The structure was planned for the phone from the start and written with the local connection in view.

Information architecture

The page moves from orientation to action, in this order:

  • A header with the phone number and a button for enquiries and contact
  • A headline naming the service and the location in one sentence
  • A line summarising the services
  • Two separate entry points: consulting for prospective clients, service and maintenance for existing ones
  • The service areas individually below that
  • Contact as its own area at the end

On a phone

On a phone the number in the header is the shortest route, and it stays there. The two entry points sit one above the other rather than side by side, so neither becomes an afterthought. The service areas stack instead of being squeezed into a width nobody reads on a phone.

Design decisions

The opening image shows a machine in a real room rather than a studio shot; the red chair in the background stays in frame because it belongs to the place. The teal from the logo carries the main action, and the second entry point is deliberately quieter so the order is legible. Imagery and typography otherwise hold back — the attention should stay on the services.

Build

The site was built mobile-first, with ways to get in touch visible throughout and each service area standing on its own. It sets only technically necessary cookies. On top of that came the technical groundwork: loading behaviour, readability, and a title and description for each page.

Handover and running it

Before going live we went through the site together to check that the service areas make sense without explanation. The domain is registered in the company's own name, as it is on all our projects. After launch we stay reachable as the point of contact.

After launch

Anyone opening the site today sees in the first screen what the business does, where it is and how to reach it — by phone from the header or through one of the two entry points. An existing customer with a service problem does not have to take the same route as someone looking for a quote.

We make no claims about enquiry numbers or rankings; they would go beyond what we can evidence.

Project scope

  • Concept and information architecture
  • Design in the NovaWeb design language
  • Mobile-first build
  • Structuring the service areas
  • Separate entry points for consulting and service
  • Visible ways to get in touch, including the number in the header
  • Technical groundwork
